Dear all,

In anticipation of taking over the Atlanta Nepali School from NASeA, I and NAG President Damu Dongol had a productive meeting on Sunday February 21, 2016 with the parents who are currently actively engaged in the Atlanta Nepali School.

A Parents Committee was formed to prepare and run the day-to-day operation of the Atlanta Nepali School and advise the Nepali Cultural Center (NCC) for this year and the next academic year starting from September 2016. The chair and members of the committee are as follows:

Sabita Shrestha (Chair)
Surya Lamsal
Sundar Shrestha
Satish Bastola
Iccha Bastola
Ram Shrestha
Ishwari Kunwar
Mahesh Pathak
Damu Dongol (NCC Coordinator)

I personally felt that a great amount of enthusiasm and dedication to the Atlanta Nepali School exists among the parents. Many excellent ideas were shared by the parents at the meeting, which when implemented would provide necessary growth to the school along with a more all-rounded education about Nepali culture and heritage including Nepali language, music, dance, community services, knowledge about Nepali festivals and so on.

Currently, NCC is waiting to receive a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) from NASeA so that the Atlanta Nepali School could be handed over to NCC.

I thank the parents for their willingness to serve on this committee. Last but not the least, I thank Damu Dongol for his pivotal role in coordinating the affairs of the Atlanta Nepali School.

Regards,
Prahlad Pant, President
Nepali Cultural Center
