Dear all,

The grand finale of the week-long Gita discourse by Swami Atmananda Giri Maharaj completed last night in the presence of 100 attendees. Due to the strong interest of the audience, Swami ji extended his pravachan to 2.5 hours which was followed by Aarti.

Today’s event was sponsored by the Ghimire Family (Chet Nath & Namita Ghimire and Lekh Nath & Srijana Sharma), Janak & Parvati Baral, Mohan & Kamala Bista, Anup Srivastav & Binita Sangraula, Deepa KC & Binu Malla, Binod & Preeti Parajuli, Krishna Devkota & Family, Sanjeeb & Sabina Sapkota, and Ram Bahadur & Babita Thapa. Many devotees brought food with them so that prasad was available to all after the completion of the Pravachan and Aarti.

The Nepali Cultural Center presented Swami ji with a generous “dakshina” on behalf of all the sponsors. Additionally, the attendees donated to Swami ji for the repair of Galeswar Ashram in Devghat, Nepal, which was damaged by the bigearthquake. The sum of “dakshina” and earthquake donation amounted to about $3,500, which as per Swami ji himself, was beyond his expectations. Additionally, a few persons have pledged to send their donations directly to Swami ji.

The Nepali Cultural Center presented a check for $590 to Shree Mandir to express deep appreciation for allowing it to hold the week-long discourse on Gita Chapter 2 in the temple.

I like to thank all sponsors of the week-long Gita pravachan as well as all of you who donated for the earthquake relief for your generosity. I would also like to thank Saubhagya Shrestha ji for his tireless efforts and devotion. Many thanks to all of you who brought food to the temple and shared with the devotees.

Overall, the week-long Gita discourse, the first of its kind in Atlanta organized by the Nepali Cultural Center, was a big success. The credit for this success goes to all of you in the Nepali community who supported the entire effort wholeheartedly.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Prahlad Pant
