It is my pleasure to announce the formation of the NAG Election Commission 2017. As you may be aware that NAG Executive Committee expires in every two years. We will be conducting the election to nominate the new Executive Committee on the coming Nepali New Year 2074. Election Date TBA.
The meeting held on January 22, 2017 in Himalayan Spice, among current Executive and Advisory Committee members has unanimously nominated and the following nominees have accepted the responsibilities.
Mr. Janak Baral – Chief Election Commissioner
Mr. Bhabindra Basnet – Election Commissioner
Dr. Bishwa Adhikari – Election Commissioner
Mr. Pranaya Lama – Election Commissioner, Ex-President
Mr. Raju Thapa – Election Commissioner, Ex-President
We are grateful that all the five nominees have agreed to take on the responsibilities. Me and the fellow executive committee officials assure all the support and help to the election commissioners to carry out their mission of free, fair, efficient and a democratic election process. The Election Commissioners will publish election timeline and guidelines very soon – stay tuned!
