Nepalese Association of Georgia (NAG) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit and nonpolitical organization registered in Atlanta, Georgia since 2001.
Our Mission is to preserve, promote Nepali cultural heritage and foster mutual cooperation among Nepali and Friends of Nepal.
Nepal Youth Association of Atlanta (NYAA) was founded in 2000 in a small gathering among friends and family celebrating Dashain and Tihar festival. Since the inception of NYAA the Nepalese community in Georgia were growing in large. Nepalese were migrating to other cities throughout the state of Georgia.
In 2009 association made a bold decision to change its name from Nepal Youth Association of Atlanta (NYAA) to Nepalese Association of Georgia (NAG) to bond all Nepalese living in other parts of Georgia. But the motto of our association hasn’t changed “Brining all Nepalese and Friends of Nepal Together” to celebrate Nepal’s unique culture and festival in Georgia, and continue to offer philanthropic support in back home Nepal when possible.
The primary goals of NAG is:
- To align a cordial relationship with the local community.
- To promote Nepali cultural heritage in the local community.
- To extend helping hand to Nepal and the Nepalese in the local community.
- To provide emergency support to the people in need.
- To provide informational and moral support new comers and students.
General Members Benefits:
- Have right to vote and run for election of NAG executive committee.
- Get discount on fees to join NAG held parties and activities when announced.
- Opportunities to network with other members.
General Membership Types and Fees:
- Individual member $10 for 1 term
- Individual Life member $100
- Family Life member $150
Nepali festivals and events we celebrate when possible:
- Nepal New Year celebration party in month of April
- Annual BBQ Summer picnic in month of June to July
- Hartalika Teej Festival party in month of September
- Dashain & Tihar celebration party in month of October
- Dashain & Tihar Football Cup in month of September to October
